The Oversized Shirt

The Oversized Shirt

A white oversized shirt, the holy grail of a women’s wardrobe! There are so many ways to style a white shirt, tuck it in, tie it up, leave it loose, too many to choose from! It’s such a versatile fashion essential, whether you wanted to throw it over the top of a bikini on holiday, tuck into some high waisted suit trousers for a more business professional vibe or even buttoned up loose over some cycling shorts, you truly can’t go wrong with owing one of these bad boys!

This is how I’ve styled my white shirt for date night, I decided to go with a cute buttoned down mini skirt in a grey check as I really like grey and white together, I think they are really complimenting to each other. My shirt is satin so is really light and floaty and the ballooned sleeves are just so dreamy. Everything just effortlessly falls together in this outfit, my boots add that little bit of and colour as the other components are more muted and my bag adds the detail. I really love how this all fell into place and gives such a clean fresh girly look for my date.

I’m going to share with you some of my favorite ways to style up/down a white shirt with inspiration from some of my fave infulencers!

Cycling Shorts – We can thank Channel for cycling shorts being such a big hit this summer introducing them on the SS19 catwalk. What a perfect way to style with an oversized shirt to balance out the tight silhouette.

Slip Dress – A slip dress should be in everyone’s wardrobe over summer! Create a more daytime look by throwing over a light weight white shirt and piling on the accessories!

Wide Leg Trousers – Go for a printed shirt and tuck into some neutral wide leg trousers to recreate this beautiful sleek look. Perfect for a work meeting or evening drinks.

Over a Crop – This just speaks for itself. Crop top’s are given new lease of life when you throw an unbuttoned white shirt over the top. How chic and urban!

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post on an absolutley fabulous fashion trend that I’m almost certain will carry through into AW19. See my outfit details below!
